Filip Diarra is a Czech-born, founder of NewNew, a social decision-making platform where users control the everyday decisions of others; backed by the world’s most prestigious investors.
Diarra started his life in a rural village of the Eastern Czech republic around the lifting of the Iron Curtain. By 11 he was writing 100-page stories, By 12 he was working to earn money, by 14 he bought his own plane ticket to North America, by 19 he launched his first successful company and never looked back.
His vision to own the decision-making vertical with NewNew caught the attention of the valley’s heavyweights. Investors in the company include; Andreessen Horowitz (Slack, Coinbase, Pinterest, Clubhouse, Airbnb, Facebook), Founders Fund (Facebook, Spotify, Airbnb, Lyft, SpaceX), Canaan Partners (TheRealReal, Rakuten, Zoosk), Shrug Capital, Will Smith, and many more. He raised funding for the company at an 8-Figure valuation along with his co-founder Courtne Smith; making him one of the very few people of color to pierce the glass ceiling in tech.
NewNew was selected by Snap Inc. as one of just a handful of companies worldwide for Snap’s Inaugural Yellow Collabs program, allowing NewNew to exclusively leverage Snap’s technology to build custom experiences for all Snapchatters.
He previously co-founded the popular mobile app Suprize, a moment-based platform that allowed users to participate in video challenges to win coveted prizes and experiences. It was an instant hit with celebrities including Post Malone and Shawn Mendes. He also co-founded Tharen, a leading luxury hair extension brand for women worn by the likes of Serena Williams and Taraji P. Henson.
He now resides in Los Angeles and works from NewNew’s HQ in Bel-Air.
